中美婚俗差异

美国人去哪里注册？

How do you get legally married? 怎么注册结婚？

1) Court 法院

You can go to the court and register for marriage：可以去法院登记结婚

No, you don't go in the court room and sit before the judge：不是进法庭，坐在法官面前

There is a marriage registration department in the court：而是去法院的一个婚姻登记部门

2) City Hall 市政厅

There's usually a marriage registration office inside city hall: 市政厅通常也有一个婚姻登记处

But you don't need to go to these places: 但是，也不一定要去这些地方才能登记

A church minister also has the power to legally marry people: 比如牧师，就有权力公证婚姻

美国结次婚要多少钱？

结婚这项终身大事，美国人当然也会花很多时间和金钱去准备。

看一下美国2015年平均婚礼开支: 将近$30000美金。

费用包含婚宴、婚戒、婚礼乐队（美国人很看重这个）、还有鲜花开支。

房子不算在内，因为美国人没有结婚买房的预期。很少有新人在结婚前买房，因为买不起。

All this stuff makes me even more scared of marriage: 你越说，我越怕结婚了

I could get married with my lady on a beach alone：我可以在海滩上举行婚礼，就我和我的新娘

I would rather have a dream marriage than a dream wedding：梦想婚姻比梦想婚礼重要得多

美国人在哪里办婚礼？

相较国内的酒店宴会厅，美国人更喜欢在户外办婚礼。

1). Church or chapel 教堂

It's extremely common if you're religious: 教徒一般都会在教堂举行仪式

2). Outdoor, scenic places 风景优美的户外场地

Even if you choose a church or a chapel, you will go somewhere else for the wedding banquet: 教堂仪式后，婚宴通常会到别处

Hotel banquet hall: 酒店宴会厅

Scenic outdoor places are very popular: 风景美丽的户外场所也非常受欢迎

Restaurants or hotels with a large garden are also very popular: 带大花园的饭店、酒店也很受欢迎

美国人的婚纱照：结婚当天拍

Wedding portraits 婚纱照

Many people take wedding portraitson their wedding day, not before: 很多人不会事先拍婚纱照，而是在婚礼当天拍

They will hire a photographer to capture candid moments：他们会雇一个摄影师捕捉最真实的婚礼瞬间

Caputure the essence and feeling between the couple: 捕捉新人间最真实的感觉

美国人不接新娘，也不闹洞房

In China, the groom goes to the bride's home and get her: 中国，新郎要去接新娘

The bridesmaids will give the groom and grooms' men all kinds of challenges: 伴娘团会给新郎、伴郎团很多挑战

They'll give hongbao, do lots of pushups: 要给红包、做俯卧撑

美国婚礼没有这一步，因为新郎婚礼前不能见新娘

The groom is not supposed to see the bride before the wedding: 有个传统，新郎在婚礼前不能见新娘

The father of the bride walk her down the aisle: 新娘的爸爸会领着新娘走过红地毯

新郎这一刻才见到新娘

Groom: 新郎

The groom and the bride sit on the stage with the bestman and the bride's mates facing the guests：新郎新娘和百思特网伴郎伴娘一起，坐在舞台上，面对着宾客吃饭

The bride won't go through as many gown changes. 新娘不会换太多套礼服

婚礼司仪是伴郎

这也是中美婚礼很不同的一点。

美国人不会请专职司仪，他们喜欢认识、熟悉新人的人主持。通常这个工作就落在伴郎团里口才好的那位身上。

We won't hire a professional wedding MC who's a stranger: 我们不会请专职婚礼主持人，你不认识他

MC (master of ceremony): 主持人

Usually the best man will host the wedding: 通常伴郎会主持婚礼

You'll usually pick one who's got a great sense of humor: 通常要找新郎好友里最有喜感的

It's custom to roast the groom in good spirit. 善意调侃新郎

结婚蛋糕留一年

美国还有个传统，就是把wedding cake(结婚蛋糕）留一小片，冻起来。新人留到结婚一周年吃。

网上还有很多如何解冻蛋糕的攻略：

Save a piece of wedding cake for the first wedding anniversary：留一小块结婚蛋糕，结婚一周年纪念日吃

美国人不送红包，送这些：

Instead of giving cash, people give gifts that the couple requested: 美国人婚礼不送现金红包，而是送新人指定的礼物

It's called "wedding registry": 叫“婚礼礼物注册”

Couples set up a wedding registry at stores or websites: 新人会在商店或者网站注册一些想让客人送的东西

The registry usually includes household items, gadgets: 通常都是家居用品、小家电这些实用的东西

They'll tell the guests where they're registered: 他们会告诉客人自己在什么地方注册了礼品单

Guests buy things from the list: 客人可以选择想买清单上的什么东西送给新人
